DGM Fette is a semi revival of Breite Fette Information, originally designed by Friedrich Karl Sallwey and cast by Klingspor in the late 1950s as an addition to the Information family.

It is probably best known today from its use in Pablo Ferro’s title sequence for “Bullitt” and The Kinks’ – Kinkdom artwork.

It’s been a joy and a pain to play with and build, finding the balance between respecting the original letterforms and injecting my own vision and personality into it.
Because I can’t just do one easy thing ever, as soon as I finished working on Latin, I decided to go in and add both Cyrillic and Greek to it. With the kind and generous help and aye of a few fellow designers, I am pretty happy to introduce

A professionally kerned version is underway, which you’ll hear about in January I reckon. Kerned and spaced by the master Igino Marini (iKern).
