Quick one, NOT SPONSORED, and I will NOT suggest to join any Pro Program, BUT… Did I just actually get some decent jobs through Behance? YES.
Looks like they’re steering from a portfolio-only platform to a more comprehensive place for designers to show their stuff but also sell their services. Maybe it’s a coincidence, but I have a feeling someone is working behind the scenes to get more studios, agencies etc to seek creatives there.
The new “services” tab is a nice thought even tho it’s executed poorly (Might still be in beta?). It’s not very flexible, works in USD only (they are pushing for people to take payments through their platform so why not multi currency?) and in general is not a much tailored way to quote your services.
BUUUUUT it’s a great way to showcase what services you do offer and an idea of your rate. Maybe this, too, helped screening out all the “I need a logo i have $25” messages. I don’t think we’re anywhere near handling jobs on Behance yet, but it’s been a great first point of contact to get clients in.
Anyway, this was just a quick one to say Hey, we all thought Behance was a bit lame and not very useful, but it seems to have evolved into better stuff.
Some Jobs I got through Behance in the past 6 months, at full rate:
• Branding for Running Sportswear Brand
• Customisation of logo for Queer Medical Startup w/Onto
• Branding for Uploid w/ Superthink
• 3 Day Consultancy for Dima Ayad
• 3 Day Consultancy for Partiful
• 2x Custom Typefaces (in process, but let’s cross fingers)
Go get the dust off your profile!
